What to do in an Emergency
For emergency services (ambulance, police, fire) please immediately call 112 or +30112.
112 is the common emergency telephone number that can be dialed free of charge from any telephone or any mobile phone in order to reach emergency services (Ambulances, Fire & Rescue Service and the Police) in the European Union (EU).
Alternative number is 166
Do not delay if you feel an emergency situation has arisen.
If you call this number, the ambulance will come. You can call from anywhere in the area.
Instruction for driver to find the house:
Please come to Plaka village, Apokoronas, Chania, Crete, GR, TK 73008. If you are driving from the Plaka Square, drive to the Totem Taverna. Take a small road to the left just before you arrive at the Totem. The house is the first one to the left of the small road, called Villa Olive Garden
In case of a fire
- Exit the property as quickly as possible
- Ensure that all persons are accounted for
- Dial 112 and ask for ‘FIRE’
- State your location (see some paragraphs above or front page of this book)
Do not attempt to re-enter the building until a Fire Officer states that it is safe to do so.

Our host and contact in Plaka is Carina Drepanos
We have been fortunate enough to have Carina Drepanos as our host since we are not here when we rent out the house. She will be your contact when you rent with us. She has lived in Greece since 2003, and since 2007 in Plaka. She knows the area. We expect she will be of great help to you. Both she and we want your stay here to be memorable. Carina is originally Danish and speaks all Scandinavian languages well, in addition she speaks Greek and English.
