Wifi
Please note that Plaka is at the countryside and therefore internet availability and speed may vary. Unfortunately, we cannot do more than the provider can offer. The speed varies depending on high data consumption such as video streaming. Your use of the internet must be lawful.
wifi ID: Olivegarden, Password: Olivegarden1205
There is a code for the padlock on the gate, and you will find 2 sets of keys for the house in the box to the right of the front door. We will send you these codes in a special email
There is a villa book in the house with the same info as this, and you also have the opportunity to see the same info through our website: www.olivegarden.no
AIR CONDITION
All rooms feature new inverter air conditioning units capable of both heating and cooling. These units operate swiftly, and within minutes, you’ll notice a significant difference in temperature. It should only be used when the room is occupied, and all doors and windows MUST be closed.
If you leave all the air conditioning units on with windows and doors open, you will cause a power failure due to overuse.
At night time in the summer we recommend a setting of 24-26C, which provides a comfortable temperature when you sleep under a sheet. Remember to empty the water bottle outside, which collects the condensation water.
WATER
The water is heated by solar cells. Therefore, the water will be warmest in the afternoon. As an island, there can be times of water shortages. The villa has a reserve tank but please try not to waste water, also in an attempt to be conscious of the environment.
The water from the tap is drinkable, but we recommend buying bottled water. It is available in all mini markets, kiosks and supermarkets also in 5- and 10-liters bottles.
WASHING MACHINE
The washing machine is self-explanatory, but there is an instruction for all the electrical equipments here
KEYS
Please, do not leave the key in the lock on the inside of the door. In case there is a need to open the door, we can´t use the spare key when another key is in the lock. We recommend that you leave the key in the key box next to the door when leaving the house.
LIGHTS
Please turn off all indoor lights when the rooms are not occupied, and note that all outdoor lights are switched off.
WC
In Crete, tourism is growing faster than the infrastructure, and in general the drainage system across the island is old. This means that toilet paper must not be thrown in the toilet. We ask you to put it in the bin next to it.
CENTRAL HEATING
During the winter months, there may be a need to supplement the heat source. We refer to the website for the use of the central heating

The cleaners are not responsible for laundry or washing up, and we ask that you keep the property tidy.
We recommend that you empty your waste bin daily. Please, do not leave rubbish outside as this will invite stray cats and vermin.
RUBBISH DISPOSAL
There are large green/grey bins on the road down towards Plaka after the cemetery. The blue ones are recycling bins for cardboard, paper, plastic and tin cans. The yellow is for glass.
HYGIENE
Greece is not different than other southern countries when it comes to occasional problems with unwanted bug as ant, mosquitos, cockroaches and other insects. Their presence does not reflect the condition of the villa; it is simply a reflection of a warm country in the countryside. Taking care to cover and clear up food, especially dropped crumbs or sliced fresh fruit can help the situation. We also kindly ask you not to feed stray animals as they may return to the villa and become a nuisance.
MOSQUITOES
Mosquitoes are typically not bothersome during the day, but in the evenings, their presence can vary depending on the season, humidity, and wind conditions. It’s advisable to keep doors and windows closed and utilize mosquito nets to prevent their entry. Leaving lights on and doors/windows open serves as an open invitation to mosquitoes. A large fan is provided on the terrace for your use in case of still air. It effectively deters mosquitoes. The two small supermarkets in Plaka have a wide selection of mosquito sprays and lemon candles, etc.
CHILDREN´S SAFETY
The accommodation might not have the same child precautions as you are accustomed in your own home. Please take extra care with swimming pools, balconies, roads, unfenced areas etc. Parents are responsible for the actions of their children at all times.
